Ethics plays a key role in research and the theories differ depending on the social settings of the target environment. The research requires adherence to key virtues such as honesty, integrity, objectivity, openness, intellectual property, confidentiality and carefulness. When it comes to industry specific information, Resnik (2015) says that ethics policies are essential right from the data fabrication so that they are not misused or they are saved with better care. Promoting ethical conduct throughout the research process is essential and needs to be applied for all the participants involved. Data handling strongly requires confidentiality because they are financial reports and personal information about the company which should not be let out as the other people are competitors according to the company.

Further, the role of ethics is also discussed for the research as well as for the companies that operate in the fields of customer management and service. Relevant virtues for this research are also listed for the purpose of documentation and maintenance. This literature review will serve helpful for future studies, too.
