As mentioned by my father, he perceived his role of a leader very seriously, while influencing others with his charismatic personality and he has several qualities and attributes that make him an effective and charismatic leader. One important quality that I think my father possesses is the inspirational motivation. He holds the ability of inspiring and motivating the followers for delivering his performance at higher levels, and for showing commitment to the business organization. He considers using his charisma as a tool of leadership for finding roots to be backed up with antiquity. However, as identified by my father, his biggest weakness is that he is short tempered. When I interviewed Anson, he considered my father as an idealized leader as he has been working under his leadership. As an effective leader, I found him focused to explore and evaluate the competencies of leadership as he observed among others across the organizations. He believed to have the ability of persuading and influencing others, by demonstrating integrity, motivating and communicating, implementing and innovating strategic vision.
However, I believe that he did not hold the ability of demonstrating tenacity and drive. He further did not have the ability of innovating and driving the people of his organization for new directions and ideas. Hence, I believe that Anson is a combination of transformational and transactional leadership. Integrity, having conviction, being trustworthy and truthful is an essential competency of leadership. On interviewing Shing, I concluded that he is an effective leader who tends to demonstrate ethics and values within personal behaviour, while there is an integration of these ethics and values into organizational activities and practices. As a good leader, he acts in showing courage towards her or his convictions and according to him, leaders should show openness with their following. He believes in modelling honesty, fairness and transparency, while there must be no violation of confidences or divulgence of potentially harmful facts or information. However, as same as my father, he also has a short temper.

Although I own these three key skills, I have few weaknesses as well in which I need to work hard. Firstly, I lack public speaking skills and hence I hesitate while doing the presentation in front of the class. My supervisor had trusted me so much but I was not able to present the project well. Hence, I need to inculcate this quality within me and ensure that I cope with situations well. These are the strengths and weaknesses that I acquire.
Although strengths do not require much improvement, there are areas such as public speaking, language fluency and coping with odd situations where I need to work hard. As per the assessment above, it is required that I work in three areas such as public speaking, language fluency and coping with odd situations in order to acquire the managerial competency. As per Bierer and Chen (2010), public speaking is one of the critical traits of a manager and he is required to be confident enough to engage the audience. Also, language fluency is another important managerial skill and hence needed to be mastered by me effectively. A manager is the mediator between management and the executives, so he must be competent enough to handle every situation with confidence. In order to change the behavior and work on these skills, it is critical to develop SMART goals. As per Savickas (2003), it is crucial for a leader to determine his competencies. In order to achieve positive self-regard, determining the strengths and weaknesses is the first step. Since an effective leader makes best efforts to learn skills, components such as knowledge and understanding of the tasks, skills and competency to communicate and build teams are critical (Ensher, Heun, and Blanchard, 2003). Considering the personal assessment above, the goals and strategies to be adopted to work on the weaknesses are given below.
