It was observed that the narrowing of the curriculum was reported by some teachers in the high stake situations. Few schools focused on ways for improving their test scores directly by altering the curriculum to a large extent that resulted in making the curriculum more effective. On the same time it was felt that the curriculum was narrowed in comparison to other colleges. It was observed that major changes were made by schools in smaller district in the curriculum and even adjustments were made in instruction patterns. Teachers normally do not feel that the changes made were completely in favor and interests of students. The sequences of instructions and the content were highly affected by the high stake testing. As the date for tests start approaching direct efforts is made by the schools for affecting test scores increases.
The educational system of America still confronts the inequality in education in public schools. The fact behind this unsuccessful education system is that the allocation of funding of local schools by own school districts is done in such way that it affects only poor and minority students. Around 50% operating costs of public schools is accounted by the nationwide local school districts. The budgeting practices for education have a greater and direct impact on the educational system of U.S. in comparison to the investments done by the state and federal governments. The existing federal legislation indirectly supports the funding done by local district schools.
