Psychoanalytic theory proposed by Freud is one of the important theories that had propagated the importance of child development and development of personality (Sulloway, 1992). This theory was one of the pioneering attempts to understand about the human psyche. According to Freud, a person’s personality actually comprises of ID, ego, super ego (Mitchell, & Black, 1995). ID controls the most primitive desires of a person. ID does not factor in about the views of others. It only factors in what is required by the body (Mitchell, & Black, 1995). Carnal desires are the main focus of the ID. Next is the ego. This is a conciliatory path between requirements of the ID and the society. The ego strives to maintain a balance between these elements. Superego uses the mind to control and maintain networks on how they can communicate with the society. This is the façade that people put to interact with the members of the society. In the classroom settings, there is an intricate relationship between the teacher and the student (Sulloway, 1992).
