Even the West African people don’t find themselves to be good in sprinting. Even though the population of the West Africa’s is nearly equal to the total population of the entire United States of America, but still they lack in sports. So it is useless to say that the West Africans are good in sprinting. They lack in sports due to lack of coaching facilities and poor training centers. West African sprinter who is actually from Africa is Frankie Fredrick’s who has secured a lot many Olympic medals and has been able to complete 100 meter dash in less than 10.47 seconds. However he actually belongs to Namibia, although Namibia shares its boundary from West Africa. Although being different in geography and biology.
Entine uses different examples of Black athletes from African, Namibian, Kenyan and other South Asian origins for proving his point. His point is that black people have a different biology which makes them superior in sports including muscles. According to him the black people are natural sprinters and they have a better stamina over the other players of the same sports but from different origin thereby giving them an edge over the others. He is of the opinion that the persons geographical conditions, his environment, his diet and his nutritional activities make him different from others. Thus he is of the opinion that people from black origin are having a cutting edge over the others because of the fact that they have different geographical, physical, environmental and nutritional conditions than the white players.
These facts are irrelevant as we have examples from our sports where a person who was rejected at some point of his life for a particular sport emerged as the champion in the same sport. Taking some examples from the football, Diago Maradona from Argentina was having a short height and was not being selected in the team at a time but he finally emerged as the best player of football in the history. Leone Messi once being rejected from the team trial in his school is now one of the best players in the sports today.
