The most important part is to develop an efficient Logical Framework for the project. There are two main stages of developing a log frame i.e. describe or analyze and the second is designing or planning stage.
The first stage i.e. describing or analyzing has following four important elements:
- Stakeholder analysis: In this stage we identify all the stakeholders of a project and we also describe their roles and responsibilities and how they will get affected by the outcomes of the project. In a software project the potential stakeholders are software engineers, project managers, consultants, client, the vendor organization etc. We need to define roles and responsibilities of all the internal stakeholders and we also find out the effect of our project on external stakeholders like client, suppliers etc.
- Problem analysis: In this stage logical framework helps in finding out all the problems which can occur in the project and also the problems which we want to solve through the project. Constraints and opportunities are also noted down in this stage. We also do cause and effect analysis in this stage.
- Objectives analysis: The main objective is to solve the problems identified in the above stage (Bakewel, 2005). We find out the solutions for these problems. Means to end relationships are also developed in this stage.
- Strategy Analysis: Now we need to find out the plans to solve these problems. In this stage we find out all the possible strategies and also list them in the order of their effectiveness. Best strategy will be chosen and implemented.
