This project will also adopt a similar processing based on types of sound method. Differentiating the noises and meaningful sounds is necessary to segregate and study radial pulses. Radial pulses are commonly used to assess the heart rate and cardiac rhythm, but this pulse is only palpable. A palpable pulse that is read only on close contact with the skin and by the very minute of motions under the skin is what necessitates the use of a highly sensitive component. While this is the basic reasoning behind using a highly sensitive Piezo film sensor, other sensitive noises are also detected. The Piezo does not only pick up the necessary pulse rate signals from the wrist and the arm where the other peak will be calculated, it also picks up other noise ranges. The Piezo film is very sensitive to movement. The subject that will be used during the calculations of the pulse signals should be really still. Any form of wrist movement of arm movement might trigger undesired responses. These will have to be eliminated later which will lead to more work in the signal decomposition state. Therefore the noises have to be checked for and reduced in the initial signal detection stages itself.
