1.Develop and review the course of action: In this step of change process, the best suitable action or strategy that helps to make the changes easy and effective are determined. For this purpose, there involves a serious of discussions and meeting by the senior management and thereby takes the most appropriate decisions and action plan for change management. This is a time consuming process. However, the effectiveness of the same is based on the degree of involvement and coordinated efforts of every individual in the company, who contribute to the selection of best course of action for change management (Goetsch, & Davis, 2014).
2.Selection of action: It is essential to select the best course of action from the various alternatives to implement changes in the company. The best course action will be different in different problems. Hence, the selection of the same is based on the continuous analysis as to whether the change can bring the expected positive results in the company. The best course of action selected to every individual in the company so that their effort towards the change implementation can be improved and made efficient.
3.Plan the change: In this step, the planning for implementing the change has to be done. This planning involves who, what, where and how the change implementation is done. The change management strategies are also planned along with the change to be implemented so that a better involvement of every one and the smooth execution of change activities are possible within the company.
4.Reassess and adjust: In this step, the change plan has to be compared with the business plan to know whether the change objectives are connected with the business objectives.
