This method works when every player changes the role and begins by playing in minutes. This method was a breakthrough in NBA and allows for playing with a comparison of low minute reserves in the game. In this they have designed the method in a way that numbers are expressed on the basis of 40 minute basis. On occasionally, it is on per 48 minute basis. Today it is referred to as the scoring rate of the player and gives points per 40 minutes. Another method mentioned in the article for resolving the problem discusses about the shooting efficiency and this statistics has been mentioned in advanced form. Before it only looked into the efficiency of the player in scoring points. An example has been mentioned that discusses that famous player Allen Iverson has been termed as a bad player, because he has a low shooting percentage, but this is not true. The new method indicates that Allen has the ability to create shots that are valuable and his efficiency is more in every shot (Lum, et al. 2012). The ways of measuring the efficiency of the player are effective field goal percentage that is known as (efg%) and the advanced method of true shooting percentage (TS%).
Solution presented in the second article is about the simple concepts of liner regression model that have been used at NBA and how can they be used for increasing the efficiency of every player. Various methods have been introduced in NBA, but the recent developments in the tools and methods of statistics have helped in measuring the level and performance of the players.
