If we were to ever have a discussion on values and cultural policy, it can never take place in a vacuum. The power currently is very important in the context of the modern world and hence issues relating to power are a significant part of cultural policy, even though it is hardly mentioned as an element of it. In the present world there are varied policies and the politics of inequality and social ignorance persist at a very significant level (Miller & Yudice, 2002). Thus, equity issues in arts and culture should always be understood by the existing gap between what is there and what isn’t. Almost everywhere, arts and culture brings in a significant understanding of prosperity that surpasses the normal measuring scale of Gross Domestic Product to assess health of any place in the world on various cultural and social parameters and in turn help in working out an alternate to the current system of social imbalance.
