As a communications consultant working with the company, an organizational behaviour issue and two main communication issues have been identified. The Organizational behaviour issues are that of lack of change management readiness caused by an inadequate communication system in the workplace. The employees and the directors of the different departments are not change ready as seen in this case study. Because the high-level issues of directors are not communicated to the employees (the problem solving teams), and employees seem to be frustrated with the different strategies used by the company, but the CEO and neither the management seems to be aware of it. The two communication issues that have been identified are in the form of lack of vertical communication strategy and feedbacks in communication. Employees are no informed on the significance of change management, and the management heads are sharing vital information to the problem solving team. Similarly, employees are dissatisfied with the strategies and are not able to communicate this to the higher ups.A lack of feedback in communication means the management, and the employees are once again not able to understand each other.
The recommendation that can be made in the context of the organizational behavioural issues is that the company should have some form of a change management protocol, with change initiatives taken up by the department heads and leaders of the company. They should first be in agreement on what form of change management is required for the organization. Next, there should be interactive communication where all employees and department heads come together. The employees must be able to share their concerns, and the department heads and leaders must be able to share their concerns. The recommendations made in the context of communications are that the company must develop a vertical communication strategy. The vertical communication strategy will ensure that both management and employees will be able to share information better. Secondly, feedback system must be incorporated into the existing communication system, and this will ensure that management understands employee concerns, and hence can make them more change ready for change management.
