The merger chosen is the one which was announced on 3rd October 2012 between T-Mobile USA and Metro PCS Communication.
T- Mobile International AG is the holding company of Deutsche Telecom for its subsidiaries outside Germany. Deutsche Telecom is the holding company for T- Mobile USA. Before the announcement of the merger T Mobile USA was number four in terms of customer base in United States. It provides wireless service to the customers in United States and serves around 32.3 million customers before the merger was announced. It primarily operated using GSM and UMTS technology.
Metro PCS was also a wireless service provider in United States. In terms of customer base it was number before the merger just behind the T- Mobile USA. Metro PCS used the CDMA technology to provide these services. Metro PCS provided wireless services in Miami, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, New York, Dallas, Detroit and other parts of United States. Customers who travelled outside the regions covered by Metro PCS were provided service through the roaming service contract Metro PCS had with other service providers.
