After analyzing the benefits and impacts, it is essential to proceed further to the feasibility analysis. There were different methods that were used for the feasibility analysis.Electricity compatibility test – The tidal energy is involved in this project and is planned to spread electricity to the regions around. In that case, the compatibility is analyzed so as to check if this can be taken further.
- Environmental impact assessment – This is subjected to the conservation of the resources, support to the living organisms and growth of environment without the spread of harmful chemicals.
- Societal impact assessment – This method is particularly used to determine the type of impact or benefit that it would create to the individual in particular.
- Cost – benefit analysis – This method will include the areas that will incur the costs and areas that will transform the investment into benefits. The expenditure has to be lesser than the revenues to the region. With this strategy, the entire project is being analyzed.
- Support groups – This method is to identify the support groups. This will include the analysis on the supporters and people who oppose towards the feasibility. This is to analyze the political backup of the region. This will influence at anytime in the near future.
These are the major methods that have been applied to the case of Severn barrage. The design of the land shows that it demands a strong support and understanding in terms of feasibility from different groups. The explanation in the deployment of aforementioned methods is explained in the upcoming section.
