The aim in this paper lies in discussing the origins of opera. The way in which this art form came into prominence and the way in which this art form eventually started evolving will further be discussed here. There are two type of operas selected for this paper which have been performed by distinct composing groups inclusive of La serva padrona (The Maid as Mistress) by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Carmen by Georges Bizet. Both these selected operas belong to different opera classifications inclusive of Opera Cornique and Comic Opera. Opera is an expanded emotional system, in which all parts are sung for instrumental backup, which, for the most part incorporates arias, melodies, and recitatives. Also such a system occasionally incorporates artful dance. Its name originates from the Italian word for a work in which there is understanding of the Baroque desire.

Improvements in engineering and painting have showed their growth on the development of stage and costumes for particular performances. Apart from the improvement in visual expressions, opera has also affected the configuration and enhancement of musical show houses and the image of vocalists and authors (Abbate et al., 2015). The main component to opera is the power of music especially if is composed for different registers of human voices. Its beauty mainly lies in the expression of emotions and the depiction of characters.
