For me, since I studied abroad as an overseas student, subtle alteration of the definition of ‘family’ has been taken place gradually. A broader sense has been endowed to this sacred word. The scope of ‘family’ has enlarged from the roof of a house to the boundary of a country. Ever since the first day I went abroad, the word ‘China’ has been closely related to my heart and soul. Each time my classmates or my foreign friends mentioned me, they will refer to the word ‘Chinese fellow’’. Each time I heard the word group ‘made in China’, a strong sense of pride will generate from my heart. Each time I come across a person with the yellow color skin as me, I will merrily feel that they are my family members.

The implication of family has never changed; it will forever refer to that kind of pleasant feelings, such as consolation, respect, and the unconditional love. However, the range of family has become enlarged, especially for a person studying or travelling in a place far away from his hometown. The profound memory for one’s family can transform to one’s ardently love to the mother country.
